Police have arrested a man named Mohammad Asadur Rahman (39) on charges of torturing a domestic worker in Bhatara police station area of ​​the capital. He was arrested from a flat at LM Tower in Jowar Sahara under Bhatara police station around 11pm on Thursday.

Bhatara police inspector (investigation) said. Rafiqul Haque gave this information on Friday afternoon.

The police inspector said, "The tortured woman was working at the house of the arrested Mohammad Asadur Rahman in Joar Sahara." From November 12 last year to June 30, 2021, at different times in Asadur Rahman's house, the woman was scorched and beaten in different parts of her body by heating iron pegs and rods in a burning fire.

Md. Rafiqul Haque further said, "When the victim fell ill due to the beating, the owner of the house sent him to his sister's house on Wednesday evening, June 30. Upon receiving the news, Bhatara police raided the house and arrested the owner of the house. A case has been filed at Bhatara police station in this regard."
