Train hits autorickshaw
Two passengers of a CNG-powered autorickshaw were killed when a train hit them in Brahmanbaria's Ashuganj Upazila. The deceased were identified as members of the same family. Their father and three others were injured in that accident. The accident took place at Talshahar Rail Crossing in the Upazila on Sunday morning.

The deceased were identified as Rubel, 33, and Pabel, 23, sons of Sadek Miah of the Rajghar area in Sadar Upazila. Sadeq Mia and three others were seriously injured in the incident. The injured were rescued and sent to the 250-bed General Hospital in Brahmanbaria.

According to police and local sources, a CNG-powered autorickshaw with five passengers was heading towards Talshahar from Brahmanbaria around 5 am today.

On the other hand, a Dhaka-bound mail train from Chattogram was crossing the Talshahar rail crossing. At that moment, the autorickshaw tried to pass quickly in front of the train. But the autorickshaw was crushed by the train. Pabel was killed on the spot.

Later, Rubel and his father Sadeq Mia were taken to the General Hospital in critical condition. Rubel died while undergoing treatment. Besides, the doctors said that the condition of Sadeq Mia is critical. The injured others are also undergoing treatment at different places.

Ashuganj police sub-inspector (SI) Dharmajit Sinha said, receiving the news, Police members including the officer in charge of Ashuganj Azad Rahman rushed to the spot. The body was recovered and sent to the morgue of General Hospital for autopsy. Besides, the injured have been sent to different hospitals for treatment.
