3 killed in Uttara road accident

Three people, including a woman, were killed when a covered van hit them in Uttara of the capital. The accident took place in Azampur on Thursday morning.
The dead were - Enamul Islam (25), Hanufa Akhter (35) and Mohammad Anik (18).
It is learned that Anik's village home is in Gournadi police station of Barisal district. At present he lived in Rayerbazar area of Mohammadpur. There he worked in a garage. His father lives in Board Bazar in Gazipur. The accident happened on the way to see his father because he had an accident. The deceased Hanufa Akter was identified as Anik's aunt. The other victim (Enamul) is an acquaintance of Anik.
Uttara West police SI Mozammel Haque said two people were killed on the spot when a motorcycle and a covered van collided in front of the Uttara Azampur Amir Complex. Anik was later rushed to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition and was pronounced dead by doctors. The body has been kept in the morgue of Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
