BCL leader's case against VP Nur in Cox's Bazar

A case has been filed against former vice-president (VP) of Dhaka University Central Students' Union Nurul Haque Nur at Cox's Bazar Sadar Model Police Station under the Digital Security Act for allegedly hurting religious sentiments. Cox's Bazar district BCL vice-president Moin Uddin filed the case on Wednesday evening.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Sadar Model Police Station Sheikh Munir Ul Gias confirmed the information.
Moin Uddin, the plaintiff in the case, said, "VP Nurul Haque has made offensive remarks on his Facebook ID, including religiously provocative remarks that hurt the religious values of Bangladesh Awami League workers and supporters."
Moin Uddin added, "Videos of these statements have been shared by Nurul Haque Nur and his followers on various Facebook IDs, so that many Facebook users have expressed their views in the comments."
The plaintiff in the case, Moin Uddin, has feared that this will create religious insanity and destroy law and order.
Earlier, cases were filed against VP Nur in four more police stations. Meanwhile, Tourid Al Masud Rony, joint general secretary of the Metropolitan Juba League, filed a case against Nurul Haque Nur in Rajshahi under the Digital Security Act for insulting religious sentiments and insulting Awami League leaders and activists.
