Wastage of water
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has called upon all to stop wasting water, reminding them that no resource is inexhaustible.

Speaking on the occasion of 'World Water Day' on Monday, she said, "We would like to make a call to all. There are many costs. So we have to stop wasting water.”

The Prime Minister urged all to be frugal in the use of water for construction work, household, or house washing.

She said, “In the end, if you waste any kind of wealth it wouldn't long last. So we have to pay special attention to how we can preserve and use the invaluable resources that we have, or use them for future generations.”

The Prime Minister said that as the groundwater level decreases, the rainwater in the urban areas can reach the ground again through the soil. She also spoke about the conservation of rainwater.

"I cemented it everywhere, and the rainwater flowed away, that's not the right way. We also need to take measures to save rainwater in the reservoirs around us."

The Prime Minister joined the function from Ganobhaban through a video conference at Pani Bhaban on Green Road in Dhaka.

Water Resources state minister Zahid Faruk, Deputy Minister AKM Enamul Haque Shamim, Senior Secretary to the Ministry Kabir Bin Anwar, and other senior officials were also present on the occasion.
