Bangladesh becoming role model in women's empowerment

In women's empowerment, Bangladesh is becoming a role model in the world. President Abdul Hamid said the achievements of the last 50 years in women's empowerment have made Bangladesh a role model in the world.

Along with strong government initiatives, women's awareness has accelerated this achievement.

The president made the remarks in a message on the occasion of International Women's Day on Tuesday, March 08.

"I think the theme of this year's International Women's Day 'Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow' is very appropriate in the current context," he said.

The President said, "On the occasion of International Women's Day 2022, My best wishes and congratulations to all the women of the world, including Bangladesh."

He said Article 19 (3) of the Constitution of the People's Republic of Bangladesh calls for the state to ensure the participation and equality of women in all walks of national life.

In order to establish the proper status of women as well as economic, social, administrative, and political empowerment, the government is implementing extensive activities to prevent all forms of violence against women, including the spread of women's education, the establishment of rights, and empowerment.

As a result of the successful implementation of various initiatives of the government, women's development is clearly visible today. Through the successful participation of women in all fields including trade and commerce, politics, judiciary, administration, diplomacy, armed forces, law enforcement, peacekeeping missions, the country is gradually moving towards development.

Abdul Hamid said that women have also brought success for the country in the international arena. Flying the flag of Bangladesh on the summit of Everest, football, and cricket, a series of successes in sports and we also have some prominent scientists.
