'Structural work of bridge completed'
The construction work of the entire bridge has been completed with the installation of the latest girder of the viaduct at the Mawa end of the Padma Bridge yesterday.
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader made the remarks at an exchange meeting with officials of BRTC and BRTA's Sylhet zone on Sunday, May 02.
The minister, who joined the meeting virtually from his official residence, said, "So far, the progress of the construction of the main bridge has been 93.25%. The progress of river governance work is 83 percent and the overall progress of the project is 85.5 percent.
Obaidul Quader expressed optimism, "The Padma Bridge will be opened to traffic in June 2022."
