Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, has been named the safest city in the world, despite several Asian cities topping the list of safest cities in the world over the years. However, Singapore, Tokyo, and Hong Kong are in the top 10 of the list.

Copenhagen topped the Economist Intelligence Unit's Safe Cities Index (SCI) annual report with 82.4 points.

This information has been informed in a report of CNN Travels on Saturday.

The list is based on digital security, health protection, infrastructure, personal safety, and environmental safety. A total of 60 cities from different parts of the world have been included in it.

Toronto, Canada is in second place on the list with 82.2 points. Singapore is in third place with 80.7 points. In addition, Sydney in Australia is in fourth place and Tokyo in Japan is in fifth place.

Sixth and seventh are Amsterdam in the Netherlands and Wellington in New Zealand. Hong Kong and Melbourne of Australia are jointly in the eighth position. In tenth place is Stockholm, Sweden.

New York ranks 11th on the list as the safest city. Spain's Barcelona is also at number 11. London in the United Kingdom ranks 15th among other famous cities.
