Yaba worth Tk 21 crore recovered in Ukhia

Members of 34 BGB battalion recovered 690,000 pieces of Yaba in separate raids at Ukhia in Cox's Bazar. The estimated value is Tk 21 crore. Five members of the gang were arrested at that time. The Yaba was recovered on Friday during a series of raids.

This information was given in a notification on Saturday, April 23 by 34 BGB captain Lt. Colonel Mehdi Hasain Kabir. He said the BGB had received information that a group had smuggled large quantities of Yaba from Myanmar. On the basis of this information, the intelligence surveillance was intensified from 19 April.

As part of this, BGB members raided Iqbal Hassan's house the Yaba Godfather Gorjanbunia Karbunia area on Friday. A search of the house turned up 50,000 pieces of Yaba. Four people were arrested at that time.

Based on the confessions of the detainees, 6 lakh pieces of Yaba recovered from the in the deep hilly area on the border of Rejupara and Gorjanbunia BOP.

On the other hand, 40,000 more Yaba were recovered from Rejupara BOP area in a separate operation on the same day. At this time. Rafiq Alam (30) was arrested from Naikhyangchhari.

34 BGB captain Lt. Colonel Mehdi Hasain Kabir said that the estimated value of 6 lakh 90 thousand Yaba recovered, its estimated value is about Tk 21 crore.
