Two yaba smugglers arrested from Naf river

The Coast Guard has arrested two smugglers along with 14,000 yaba in a raid on the Naf River in Teknaf. They were arrested at midnight on February 5 from Sluice No. 2, Jalliapara, Teknaf.

Detainee are Yunus(24) son Mohammad Nur , Liaquat Ali (18) son of Nur Islam the same area, said Teknaf Sadar Union Baraitali area.

Bangladesh Coast Guard headquarters media officer Lt. Commander Amirul Haque said, based on secret news, Teknaf station commander Lt. Commander Sayedul Morsalin led the operation on the Naf River adjacent to Teknaf Municipality Jaliapara No. 2 Sluice.

During the operation, the Coast Guard saw a dinghy coming towards Bangladesh after crossing the Myanmar border on the Naf River. As the boat became suspicious, Coast Guard members chased and detained the speed boat.

Later, they searched the boat and arrested two drug traffickers along with 14,000 pieces of yaba in a plastic packet.

Lt. Commander Amirul Haque said the dinghy used to transport drugs along with the two detainees was handed over to Teknaf Model Police Station.
