Senior Journalist Zillur Rahim Azad passed away

A senior member of Dhaka Reporters Unity, journalist Zillur Rahim Azad is no more (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilahi Raziun). He breathed his last on Friday, April 8 at 1:35 am. He was 62 years old.

He recently underwent open-heart surgery at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU). Being infected, he underwent surgery in the second phase and was undergoing treatment in the ICU for some time.

Zillur Rahim Azad's younger brother Badal said their home is in the Daganbhuiyan Upazila in Feni. Zillur Rahim Azad was Chirkumar in his personal life. His last workplace was Daily Kalbela. After the first Janazah at the DRU premises at Segunbagicha in the capital on Saturday morning will be taken to Amu Bhuiyan Hat's Mia house in Daganbhuiyan. After the second Janazah, he will be buried in the family graveyard.

Rahim Azad of Zillur was also a founding member and former vice-president of Feni Journalist Forum Dhaka.

Dhaka Journalists Union (DUJ) President Sohail Haider Chowdhury and General Secretary Akhtar Hossain and Feni Journalists Forum, also Tanvir Aladdin and General Secretary Fayez Ullah Bhuiyan have expressed their condolences over his death.
